| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Another impressive one from Roche. Poured with a genrous head, this one was a dark and cloudy amber with lots of sedimentation (just like the 10). Aroma was spicey and yeasty. Flavor was spicey (coriander) and lightly plum like. Was weaker and the mouthfeel was thinner than the Roche 10, but still pretty enjoyable. Alcohol came out much stronger than in the Roche 10. Boutip (2396), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Nice head when pourred that does not disapear too quickly. Roasted malts and higher alcohols are first impression. Very hearthy beer with a caramalized aftertaste. As usual with Trapist, a very fine beer.
Re-rate 2004: I had to re-rate this beer when I had it at the Greenwich in Brussels. This beer was served at room temperature and the aroma and taste had more complexity to it as well as one of the most beautiful apricot/peachy feels to a beer that I had the chance to taste. Wow!!!

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2002 Cottony mouthfeel. Aroma and flavor are scuppernong grape fruitiness and alcohol. A lighter and softer beer than it’s big brother. badlizard (2385), Berkeley, California, USA

Big floral bouquet with dark fruit, grape, and yeast notes. Creamy yet bright and lively palate. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, fruit, with a slightly dry and alcoholic finish with a lingering flowery taste at the end. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma: Strong Belgian aroma with lots of yeast.
Appearance: Dark Brown in color, cloudy with a thin head.
Flavor: Had a Belgian yeast flavor and then it went flat on me. The spices where not there. This was very flavorless.
Palate: Dry finish, with a decent Belgian Mouthfeel.
Overall: Ok this might be others brew but not mine and this was in fact lifeless and flat. Sorry this will not be my top 50.
