| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 10, 2003 Pours with a very tart and fruity aroma- I detect raisins, apples, cherries and perhaps a touch of toffee or caramel. Pours cloudy brown with a creamy light tan head. I was expecting a sweet body but this is heavier on the bready aspect, with zesty yeast flavors, caramel, a sweet swirl of fruits around the edges, and rather potent alcohol flavor. There are woody or musty notes too. Zesty carbonation. I prefer the fuller, fruitier body of the 10...but this is classy. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Much like the 10 this beer dances spun sugar and raisin across the tounge mixed in with brandy soaked plum flavors. Every bit as intense as the 10, but less full bodied. zach8270 (2136), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 22, 2004 Updated: Dec 6, 2008[33 cl. bottle] Dark and murky brown pour with a nice tan head. Aroma of spices, sweet malts, biscuit dough, black cherries and prunes. Flavor is very warm and full with cherry and prunish tastes, with a nicely balanced sweet malt flavor and a very prominent alcohol finish. The aftertaste is slightly dry and fruity. Very good beer. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2002 Deep ruby color with an almost chartruse colored head. Very complex malt flavors that didn’t really seem to work together. There was a lot of fruit and sherry tones, but not very well balanced. I think my rating is effected by the fact that I liked the 10 so much. Still a very good Belgian. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 27, 2004 Big fizzy brownish head. Lots of yeast floating around in there. A deep dark mahogany colour. Hints of alcohol and plums in the aroma. Quite malty, spritzy carbonation. OleR (2111), Oslo, Norway
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 13, 2007 Bottle. (BB 23.01.11) Unclear dark brown with a red tinge. Huge frothy beige/brown head. Excellent lacework. Wonderful and inviting aromas of malt and various fruits (red berries, lemon, plums and cherries). Sweet malt and caramel flavours, along with a refreshing fruitiness. Alcohol well hidden. Mild and mellow hops in the finish. Medium to full body.
Oily mouthfeel. Impressive.
