Light lacing. Aroma smells very alcoholic. Like opening a can of Pabst. Flavor is sweet and fruity. At least it doesn’t have much of a yeast flavor to it. A creamy, medium bodied beer. I will continue to try Belgium beer (via trades), but will not buy them. Sorry, just not my cup of tea (beer). Thanks Steve. Snojerk321 (1999), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a deep swampy copper color with and off white head that left some spotty lacing. Nose was sweet with candied tree fruits, candy sugar, light booze. Flavor was also quite sweet with caramel, toffee, and candied apricots. DaSilky1 (1999), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2002 a morbid mass of dark plum and elemental living froth of almost pinkish hue..tart grape skies and musty old buildings have hints of acidic tart green olives..i sit impatient waiting for the high foam to shrink and so I bite a chunk out of the head, like a peice of cake..and i chew its chocolatey grape existence..the wetness turns to musty grapes and fermenting apples..my mind turns tart..a stream of chocolate flows rapidly..the musty surroundings shake..the alcohol relieves my stress..the warmth loosens my senses..things begin to fall in place.. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA

Dark fruits as well as spice. Some chocolate as well. Spicy right up front. Roasted malty chocolate flavor, but only a mild one. Slight alcohol. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2006 A golden brown color with a nice tan head. Tan lacing that lasts forever. Aroma of yeast and fruit what kind I don’t know. Smooth creamy texture and carbonation. Alcohol on the initial taste but not as you drink it down. Smooth semi sweet taste with a tad of bitter on the finish. If the 10 is better I look forward to trying it. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA

a light copper color w/ a big light colored head (dissapates too quick) not much lacing cloudy appearance. Smells of the belgian yeast again a light carmel malt and some darker fruits but not overly fruity. Palate is smooth and well coated lighty carbonation. Flavor has a nice sweet woody taste some nice carmel malts bannanna gum and something a touch spicy. A definate belgian yeast in it and alcohol in the finish.
Good stuff. Part of the 6,8,10 run tonight and much better than the 6. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 15, 2003 Good brown color, large tan head that lasted for a decent amount of time. The aroma comes off as being very fruity and medium malty, with a slightly yeasty side to it,almost a bread like aroma. The flavor is nicely fruity again with a nice raisin and something else that i can't put my finger on,very nice carbonation to this brew that makes the flavors do a little dance on the tongue. There is a nice presence of malt and the alcohol doesn't get in the way at all but stays some what subdued until the end where it shows up in the finish and a nice light alcohol burn going down.the after taste is fruity and malty. This is another fine brew that was more then worth the trade.thanks JPDIPSO for the constantly good brews that you sent me. beerbill (1962), Laurel, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 21, 2007 33 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy deep brown with a moderate off-hite head. When held up to the sun no light passes through this beer. Very pleasant aroma of dates, plums and caramel. Flavor matches the aroma and is extremely well balanced. Silky smooth. The 9.2% alcohol is very well hidden. Very, very good, although I think I prefer the 10.
