Bottle. Dark brown bit hazy body with a medium off-white head. Lots of overripe fruit, spices and malt in aroma. Flavour is prunes, raisins, oak, caramel and lots of malt. Bit alcoholic feeling in the finish.

Rating #250, mini-milestone. Murky earth brown pour with a heavy building carbonation to lift up a finger of pillowy smooth whitish-tan head with lasting retention and mild collapsing lacing that holds the glass longer than the center of the head. Aromas of alcohol soaked prunes, cherries, plums, candi sugar, dark pit fruits and dark mahogany and cherry wood highlights. A light body of maltiness highlighted by candi sugar and hints of cherries. Very sweet finish with hints of smoothing yeastiness and vanilla. Retains the bodyand feel but with slightly less taste complexity than the 10, while I feel like the Westy 8 loses too much body along with complexity compared to the 12.

Bottle, First poured a little lots of head, very carbonated. A nut brown color. A spicy aroma with hints of dried fruit. Lots of lace left on glass. Flavor similar to aroma with a little burn of alcohol. A nice mouth feel. A nice beer.

Bottle. Pours dark, murky, muddy brown. Plenty of sediment pours out with the last few drops and some rests atop the lasting beige head, which look slike it’s climbing up the side of my glass. The aroma is quite sweet. In the foreground there arom aplums, raisins, ripe berries, and caramel. Lying a little beneath is chocolate and fresh bread. The first sip prickles the tip of my tongue and rolls smoothly down the back of my throat. The flavor is very subtle and complex, nothing jumps right in your face and demands attention. There is a delicate balance of fruit and chocolate cocoa powder, which combine to make a perfect bittersweet flavor. Yeast and spices are also present, and lead to a refreshing and dry finish, which leaves me craving another sip.
