like this one, nice balance in the malt and the sugar sweetness, also the alcohol is held at bay by the sweetness. dark brown slightly red in the light, lotsa fruit , and spict great malts. Had at Smokeless Joes and at Beer bistro

11.2 oz bottle. Poured a medium brown with lots of suspended particles floating around and a huge light brown head, to many suspended particles to get a 5 for app. Aroma is complex with a good malt base, Belgian yeastiness, lots of sweetness, raisins, dark fruit and candied fruit as well. Palate is excellent with just the right amount of carbonation and ever so slight alcohol warming on the back of your throat. Flavor has a nice sweet finish compared to spiciness that I’m used to Belgians displaying. Great beer.

Sweet caramel, brown sugar aroma, hints of molasses and chocolate, with some vanilla, slight signs of figs and dark fruits. Pours a dark chocolate brown with a thin but solid off white head. Smooth and sweet, malty, caramel, molasses, figs, dates, dark dried fruits, has a little bite and finishes pretty dry. GREAT BEER.

Cloudy with a slightly off red color. Head is tan, large, and it lingers. Carmel enhances the sweet flavor with a strong alcohol presence. Sweet maltiness in the aroma as well.

Tremendous aroma of caramel and fruits. It’s down to the wire between this and the 10. Impeccable balance and well camouflaged high ABV. A superb beer.

Cloudy brown color. Aroma is of dark malt, yeast, fruit and some organic notes. Alcohol is present. Dark fruit, spice, pepper notes and nice, welcome hop bitterness. Nice trappist ale.

Muddy ruby/brown color, hazy, pretty full tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, cherry, raisin, currant, solid malt, light spice. Flavor is quite malty, good prescence of dark fruit, a touch of booze, and a little sugar. Very pleasant mouthfeel, smooth, big, and rich. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Quality stuff this is.

Cloudy dark brown w/ amber hue & large, fizzy head. Sweet fruity nose (cherries? brandied plums) w/ hints of chocolate & spice. Light, somewhat effervescent feel. Moderately sweet w/ a hint of sourness. Flavours are chocolatey, fruity, spicy, and alcoholic. Nice complexity and well balanced.
