Very close to its stronger brother. Maybe more valuable caused by the percentage, but all in all also a worldclassbeer worth going to Belgium, on a monkcruise, with the purpose to fill the celler! Bullit (1392), Glasgow, Scotland

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Very good, but still far inferior to the Rochefort 10. Not nearly as complex or intense flavors. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma of candi sugar, dark fruits, sweet malt, and yeast. Similar to the others in the series flavor-wise: dark fruits, brown sugar, creamy malt, and of course alcohol. Really smooth and fairly full on the palate. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma of overbaked bread crust, dry wood, a leaf pile in late October, roasted nuts and alcohol. Pours ruby brown with a thin white head. Flavor of nuts, quite a bit of wood, bread crust, yeast, dry leaves and alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Creamy with lively carbonation. Meh... brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Malty dark fruit aroma with hints of that Oakiness that all good Trappists brews have, huge frothy head that never seemed to diminish, malt dark fruit taste with a surprising and wonderful grape aspect , dries out at end, touch of astringency on the tongue(theres got to be some kind of red grape in here) , body not as complex as I expected but still a stellarbeer, as is the whole line of Rocheforts DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Immensely yeasty nose with caramel, fig, brown sugar, whiskey. Tasting this is a sweet glimpse of heaven...maple, almond, yeast, honey, apple, plum or raisins and quite a few unexperienced sensations. Slightly too brisk with carbonation and needley on the tongue, but its staggeringly flavorful, a beautiful brew.
