bottle....appearance: poured dark plum and raisiney in color and another nice off-white head from these rochefort guys!.....aroma: dark fruit, sweet malt, raisin, plum, and sugar.....taste: nothing more to say since it’s pretty consistent to the characteristics described in the aroma. light in body and goes down well. can feel a little bit of the alcohol in this but truly an enjoyable, tasty , and satisfying beer.

Dark brown color, mahogany. Friable and compact head, optimal aspect and persistence. Much elegant one. Rich and complex scent. Notes of liqueur, bitter cacao and coffee. Noticeable light rumors of sugar and honey. Wrapping, strong, warm and spirited taste. Much pungent and solid, extremely lively. Strong alcohol notes with a determined but agreeable bitter mostly in the end. Very tasty.

Dark reddish color, darker than the six. Thick head quickly disappears. Sweet nose with a balance of malt and bouncy fruits. Thick roasted, coffee, chocolate taste. The alcohol gives it an added whiskey-style kick.

Pours a nice deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Some floaties in there. Roasty, sweet malt nose. Some yeast, some chocolate powder, some fruit. Flavor is complex and fruity, lots of dried and dark fruits, and great belgian yeast character. Creamy, well-carbonated palate. A bit of spice in the finish. Alcohol is not detectable and its very drinkable for 9%.

Poured redish brown with good tah head. The nose, was yeast, with alcohol and sweet malt. Flavor was the same, but much more intense. Lots of alcohol to kick this of. Very nice.

Bottle, picked up in some random grocery store in Bruge. Chunky deep brown, persistent thick light tan head. Mexican chocolate, coriander seed and gingerbread aroma. Cocoa powder, buttered walnut flavor. Massive peppery carbonation. Clean dry finish with just a faint linger woodiness. This has been one of those beers I can’t believe it has taken my so long to get around to tasting, and now that I have, was indeed good, but a little disappointing overall. It tastes like a beer in its awkward teen stage: beer that is not young enough to have the brightness of fresh beer, nor old enough to have that soft unity of maturity. Lots of sass, but still doesn’t know what it wants to be when it grows up.

Dark brown pour, with a beautiful off-white head. Fruit and spicey nose. Flavors of cherries, apples, dark fruit, spice, chocalate, sweet malt, banana, and caramel. Complex and smooth. Very good beer.
