Aroma is mellow, but extremely complex and ever-changing, sweet dark fruit, rasins, yeast, toasted malt, leather, licorice, banana, and some brown sugar. Flavor is amazingly mellow and complex. Very similar to aroma, but with a tad more licorice, and light alcohol. Finish is VERY clean. This is a little bit different than the 10, more mellow. caresville (106), Vernon, New Jersey, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2009 A truly unique experience! Medium opaque brown in color, similar to the 6 with a more balanced palette. Notes of candied pear in nose and dried cherries on palate. If you’re not a fan of this kind of beer, you don’t know what you’re missing. Dynamite brew - a one of a kind gem! Rated while drinking with Bigguns22 and Twindog. tdtm82 (42), Essex, England
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 23, 2009 One exceptional brew. Full in complexity of taste. Extremely full bodied in nature. Poured warm into my old stlye Rochefort glass with yellow writing on. Smells of figs; caramel and the normal yeast and malt.
Texture is pure black tar. Red is settled at the bottem. Tastes of carmael; figs, raisens and vanilla. Very complex brew. Lovely to sit there and contemplate theory of life with. Not as good as the 10 but very close. One amazing beer and one I always seek out. Recommend. However that beng said it had a nice brown color with a light brown head with perfect lacing. Aroma of brown sugar. Alcohol not well hiden bt it grows on you when you drink it. Over all a great beer but not something that I want to drink all of the time. ajwilliams (118), , Indiana, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 1, 2008 Smooth aroma of figs, vanilla, bubble gum, yeast. Dark brown pour with plenty of sediment left in the bottle. Huge creamy head. Hugely complex taste of brown sugar, chocolate, dark fruit, again the bubble gum, vanilla. Perfect palate, as smooth and full as you could ever want. The alcohol is present and warming. Just a tad bitter in the followthrough. I am totally impressed.
