Not as much of an alcohol aftertaste and more appealing ,smoother, creamier, must say one of my top 10 easily.. BelgianBeerGal (1291), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

I actually like this this slightly better than the Rochefort 10 because it has no detectable alcohol flavor. I would definitely search out this beer but most Rochefort products are typically over-priced: around 52 euro per case. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Brilliant malty complexity, chocolate, raisins, a little spice and fruit which all overlap in very pleasurable way. Better than Rochefort 10 even. Rotorhead87 (117), Temple, Texas, USA

Great initial taste; complex taste with a some fruityness and a nice spice to it. Finish is wonderful and lingering with a slight burn to it. I could drink this all day long. Definately in my top few beers. I can’t wait to find a 10 to try, as these Monks really know how to make a beer. Amazing. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Updated: Jul 6, 2007330 ml, maybe 2005 vintage (not sure what to make of the date code: L 10 05 11), dispensed in quart jar. Hazy burnt caramel, dark brown color with medium-sized tan head that tries to linger and gives nice lace. Wow, aroma is chocolate bread pudding with raisins and a splash of rum. Taste is similar, but slightly less rich (thank goodness, means I can drink more!), with just a touch of dryness and dangerously drinkable. Palate is light-medium and would be fine any season of the year. Alcohol is masked well, but gives a slight warm feeling afterwards. Thank you Jesus, for leaving some of your quiet, beer-makin’ holy men around to save a heathen! TheKegergator (241), California, USA

The little brother of the Trap. 10 did not disappoint. A really great brew. Not quite the look or smell of the 10 but this is in no way a slouch. Nice dark color and a sizable head. Very easy to drink and the taste is just as good, only slightly lighter, then the 10.
