Pour a hazy cola brown color with a creamy, tan head. Aroma is of baked banana bread, rasins, brown sugar, carmel, and yeast. flavor is of toasted malts, banana, chocolate, yeast, licorice, carmel, rasins, dark fruit, and a lttile port charcter. has medium body and swetness. high abv is somewhat noticable but not overpowering. finnish moderatly bitter and slighty sour. this is extremely tasty and complex beer that has alot going on.

Cloudy coppery brown with a large rocky tan head that settled in a few minutes. Bread and fruit aromas with some subtle spice notes. Flavor of fruit esters on top of a caramel malt base. A bit of a wine like flavor with the alcohol just barely coming through. A sense of licorice can be found too.

Pours large, lasting head, slowly giving way to layers of lace. Hazy dark ruby/brown. Forward, sweet aroma, predominantly anise & molasses. Also shows sassafrass/earth, candied orange, raisin, and some alcohol as it warms. Flavor is complex malt. Rich, robust licorice/maple/molasses. Malt balanced with dark candi sugar, smooth, even, and lasting. Flavors and aromas mature as it warms in the glass. Fantastic. Can’t (afford to) drink enough.

Bottle. Uncontrollably full head, no matter what I try. Laces gorgeously, is playfully fluffy, and is full enough...well, is full enough to bounce a few quarters. Pours a dark brown. Nose is sweetly malty, with dried fruit (mostly berry), yeast, spice, and caramel. Really, not <!-- i -->the<!-- /i --> most complex aroma in the world, but certainly among the most beautiful. Taste is otherworldly. Soft and lucious, slightly sweet, loooads of malt. Slight chocolate, more red berry. Strong spice is evident toward the end, as is the barely-there alcohol. Still, extremely full-bodied, a stream of oil amidst the cream. A hint of cloves. Soft and velvety. And there is even a nice hoppy swallow. Quite an experience! Kept my eyes closed for minutes afterwards, thinking about what I’d just tasted.

Medium-dark brown in color with a nice big creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma with hints of vanilla. Wonderful flavor really grabs the tongue. Flavor has notes of fruit, chocolate, and a pleasant saltiness to it. Complex flavor. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel, sweet and salty finish. Overall an excellent Belgian, though not quite as impressive as the 10 in my opinion.

Pours a very dark, yet not opaque brown amber. A huge light khaki head slowly dissipates and sticks along the way down for a nice lacing. Aroma is yeaty and spicy. Much like the 10, this is incredibly complex. Initial bitterness leads quickly into an array of dark fruits, maybe most prevelently plums. Also banana. Black licorice flavor was suprising and pleasant. A great spicyness leads into a soft bitterness in the finish. Light mouthfeel is accompanied by soft yet lively carbonation. Once again, a fanatstic brew from the Trappists. Almost as good as the 10, but I’m still partial. Still one of the best I’ve ever had.

Dark brown with a tall fizzy head that dissipates to a layer of creamy bubbles laying on the top. Aroma is sweet, lots of dark fruits, some brown sugar, and yeast. Flavor has a creaminess in the front, plenty of sweet malt, and a caramel finish. An absolute treat.
