Not quite as I recall drinking it from the proper glass in Haarlem......but still, amazing! PrimeMinister (138), Quebec, Canada

This beer has a spicy, malty aroma, thin lasting head, and a mahogany color. More carbonated than the 10. The taste is rich but not chewy, full and complex; like its big brother, the flavor really comes alive as it warms in the glass. Drink this slow to really enjoy the changes from cool to warm. Aroma is great; malts, caramel and slightly sweet, spices, raisins and other dark fruit. Surprisingly thirst quenching and drinkable. Full bodied and creamy. Taste is sweet malts, dry and gets sweeter in the mouth with a nice long faint aftertaste. Alcohol is well hid. Excellent. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 22, 2006 Sampled from bottle. Pours muddy brown with some sediment and a tall, creamy tan head. Lacing is intricate. Aroma is rich, complex malts and ripe, dark fruits. Flavor is largely balanced - perhaps only slightly sweet - with a pretty clean, dry finish. Berries, candy, pepper and some earthiness also present. Full bodied and well-carbonated. Exceptionally easy to frink for the style. A well-made beer. CampbellWilson (533), Scotland
