On tap: Light malt aroma. Very dark transparent amber with a white head. Caramel throughout. Light chocolate. Moderately hoppy in the finish. More hoppy than I expect a Scotch ale to be. Slight nuttiness in the finish. Very light banana bread is barely noticeable in the background. No real alcohol presence.

Malty aroma from the fluffy head. Some good bubbles and a pretty lace. There isn’t as much of a ’bite,’ this was smooth, even with the 9%. I liked the flavor, a mix of malt hops and just a touch of chocolate on the finish.

AT MBG Summer fest: Reddish brown hue with good off-white head. A good malty and slighty alcoholic aroma. Hints of roasted malt, pine, ripe apple, and earthy. The taste was surprising weak, some smoky and sweet tones, it was balanced by some bitters on the swallow. The alcohol detected on the nose reappeared during the aftertaste, warming my chest. Okay but not great.

Big peated malt nose. Alcohol and rish scotch malts at first sip. Chocolate sweet malts held the middle and it finished strong, peaty and firey from the alcohol.
