badnewsbeers (982), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jul 5, 2008 had this at the third annual MBG winter beer festival...the numbers are reflective of the sampling, however i added no notes. my apologies. Tmoney99 (3544), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 12, 2008 MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee and sweet chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy chocolate bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I wiil have to travel to this brewer to try more. BBB63 (3797), La Porte, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2008 2008 MBG Winter Fest: Opaque topped by a rich creamy head with very good lace. The aroma is espresso, charred malt, oats, chocolate and vanilla, oak, prune and plum esters. The taste has twangy fruit and coffee bitterness balanced by a syrupy lush chocolate and caramel malt base. A hint of grassy and smoky notes as well. The mouth feel is smooth and very drinkable. Not too shabby, I would have another.
