Commercial Description:
We brewed this one because we just can’t get enough of those hops. IPA’s seem to be a great choice any time of the year. They have a great malt flavor and hop profile, just what a beer connoisseur is looking for. We decided to give this one a bit more hops. Try this with a strong cheese like a very sharp cheddar, cloth bound, aged if you can find one.

22oz bottle-pours a rich to rocky light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is sweet citrus/pine hops, some malt. Taste is sweet orange/lemon-citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt, some alcohol. Soft carbonation. When it warms some detracting/phynols show, so review is based on cool/chilled which occurred with the Double Smoked Porter too.

Draft at DRE. Pours hazy orangy copper with off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, grapefruit, tangerine. Tastes very hoppy and citric with a solid caramel malt backbone. medium palate heft, decent complexity, with a good deal of tangerine and pineapple and grapefruit in the flavor.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a tan head. Grapefruit and citrus notes with a light spicy hop resin. Strong pine y hoppiness with accents of some mild etoh but well hidden in the vine character of the body. Very nice, my bro is pounding it.

Shared a bomber at CL CdC release. Pours a deep slight hazed copper/amber with a foaming off whtie head. Aroma is grassy, herbal, ok citrus hops- a bit stale, not quite that powerful- some orange zest, and caramel malts in the backbone. Flavor is also grassy, citrus, herbal, moderate crystal malts- caramel and toffee sweetness, and a grassy slightly astringent finish. Ok and drinkable but doesnt come close to a great DIPA.

Tap at Nside. Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of fresh American hops, tea, caramel, Cheerios, floral and perfume notes. Flavor of piney and grapefruit hops, caramel, toffee and some nuts. Liked how the hops came together with the malt in this beer. Haven’t been overly impressed with the Rock Art beers but this was well done.
