| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Pours a deep slight hazed copper/amber with a foaming off whtie head. Aroma is grassy, herbal, ok citrus hops- a bit stale, not quite that powerful- some orange zest, and caramel malts in the backbone. Flavor is also grassy, citrus, herbal, moderate crystal malts- caramel and toffee sweetness, and a grassy slightly astringent finish.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Nov 20, 2009 22 oz bomber purchased from Spirits Unlimited on the Lakewood/Howell border. Poured a good looking deep burnt orange with ana verage sized frothy off white head that leaves some nice lace on my newly acquired Sam Adams snifter, nice glass by the way. Aroma was lousy for an Impy IPA with no noticeable hops at all. What was there was some soggy raisin bread notes, caramel and toffee. The palate was nice enough with a fuller slightly creamy mouthfeel, light tingly carbonation and a bitter kick on the end. The flavor was mostly malts with an emphasis on bread and a slight touch of dark fruit as well. IIPA....well if this was several years old maybe. SuIIy (1452), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Deep copper coloured body with ruby tints, a dense tan head and a bit of orange highlights too - looks nice! Aroma of strong hops, alcohol, metal, malt, caramel and a bit of pit fruits. Full-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour with alcohol and metal behind along with a good dose of malts and yeast. Aftertaste rough around the edges with a metallic twang and a hoppy finish along with plenty of noticeable alcohol. Overall, a good beer, definitely respectable for the style, which I don’t like too much, but can find the good aspects of this beer - a ton of hops and bitterness, which differentiate this to most other Imperial IPAs. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 03-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 18-October-2009. OldGrowth (1426), North Carolina, USA

Tad hazed brownish orange color, ok head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor, like aroma, Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Eh, not much to grab me. I’ve been away from New England for 3 years and this reminds me why I had generally avoid this brewer. Nothing technically wrong, but uninspiring.... argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Tap at Nside. Pours a lightly hazy orange amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of fresh American hops, tea, caramel, Cheerios, floral and perfume notes. Flavor of piney and grapefruit hops, caramel, toffee and some nuts. Liked how the hops came
together with the malt in this beer. Haven’t been overly impressed with the Rock Art beers but this was well done.
