argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Jul 1, 2007 (22oz bottle, thanks muzzlehatch) Clear amber body topped by medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/orange, butter, some caramel/cookie. Taste is mild sweet, grapefruit/earthy, grassy, some caramel. Sharp bitterness. Light alcohol burn in the finish. Medium-full body. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 29, 2007 Pours a hazy copper bronze with a nicely-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of fairly fresh, earthy grapefruity hops and a touch of lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts with some decent malty sweetness and an earthy bittering hoppy balance with some sugary notes. Needs some more assertive aroma and flavor hops with a crisper finish. Otherwise a pretty decent first attempt at an IIPA. hopdog (4657), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 22oz bottle. Poured a medium orange color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of pine, grass, earthy, citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of pine, citrus, and lighter caramel. BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bottle: Copper caramelly color with a nice creamy head and lots of lacing. the nose is grassy with plenty of grapefruit and citrusy notes. The flavor strong with plenty of alcohol notes and caramel malts, the hop notes are subtle in the flavor, but the zesty hot ethanol kicks up over most of the dry hops. The finish is nice and creamy, sweet. Hot lingering alcohol and sweet caramel malts. The hops are nice in the nose and are downhill from there, but the malts stay plenty clean. Excellent company sharing this bottle with argo0 and chris_o on the sunday after the summer gathering. Thanks to muzzlehatch for this bottle.
