tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Jan 31, 2008 Pretty good Double IPA. Great Aroma. Nice color and lacing. The hop taste is somewhat balanced by the high ABV. A little sticky feeling. The bitter is not harsh and not overly hoppy.
Dorwart (1584), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2008 Decent sized sloppy white head of varying sized bubbles. Reduces to a rocky sloppy mess. Light malt aroma with some cinnamon, ritz crackers and a bit of floral hops. No where near enough hops for a IIPA. Color is a dark amber. Roasty and bitter. Bit of harsh bitterness and some caramel. Some orange and spices. Noticable alcohol presence. Finishes bitter and dry and a chalky. I have learned not to expect too much from this brewery. This is another reason why.
GuilTTy (436), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bomber from Canal’s in Princeton, NJ. Very hazy copper pour inder a 2 finger medium tan head. Average lacing. Very little citrus/pine in a weak aroma of malt and a little hay. Tastes more like a slighly hoppy APA/Amber blend. This is an Imperial Marketing Ale - not an IIPA. Yes, it has a hoppy profile but not an aggressive one. No grapefruit notes. Malty, bready and too much alcohol/phenol stuff going on. Unremarkable finish. OK texture. My first from this brewery and I won’t be running out to grab another terribly soon. hophead75 (1610), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 10, 2008 Hazy amber in color with a small off white head. Aroma: moderate citrus, earthy, and floral hops, molasses, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is malty with molasses, earth, and a moderate hop profile. Gets muddled, and doesn’t seem to have much direction. Alcohol gets moderate in the finish. Moderate bitterness. Wasn’t crazy about this. Sregnar35 (646), Rotterdam, New York, USA Apr 7, 2008 Pours ugly orange brown, very cloudy. Aroma hoppy but not very pungent. Flavor is like hops, grass, and gasoline, not great.
