williamherbert (420), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 Spicy, funky Belgian aroma. Hint of spicy ginger too. NIce, grassy hop. Really excellent.
Beautiful cloudy peach color. Head goes bye-bye quickly. Rose-colored in a different light. Gorgeous.
The flavor is heavy ginger, which fits perfectly with the Belgian spice. Grassy; hints of bubblegum. Some earthy cloves come in. White wine and a touch of peach. Lemon-grass hops and green apple.
The palate is chewy and fizzy. Thick, bites the back of the tongue. It’s a delicious spicy beer. Fizzy like a farmhouse, then hoppy like a pilsner. I like! Yves (987), Beerse, Belgium Nov 7, 2009 Hazy goldcen coloured beer with small white head, floks of yeast visible. Hoppy spicy aroma. Full palate. Finish is balanced spicy hoppy with a slight bitter end. Good one, very nicely balanced. sunevdj (1753), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Oct 30, 2009 Bottle at Bière Mondial 2009, Strasbourg. Pours a hazy orange. Sweet with aromas of ginger and vanilla. Hints of Belgian yeast and residual sugars. Medium bodied. Medium to high carbonation. Dry finish with hints of ginger. Arayaga2 (931), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 24, 2009 Opaque cider colored with a big poofy tan head. Aroma is apples, cinnamon, and yes, a bit of ginger. Sweet, and phenolic in taste but a bit empty and uncomplex. A bit of bubble gum, and metal flavors in finish. $5/22oz jimhilt (1662), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Sep 5, 2009 Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Spicy nose. Flavor is sweet malt and ginger. Smooth but not as smooth as a Belgian triple. $3.99 for a 22oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange golden body with a white head. Ginger root all over this with a sweeter citrus and coriander character. Clover with a sweeter finish and a mild etoh warming. A step up from there usual. dnstone (134), , New Jersey, USA Jul 9, 2009 Hazy orangey gold with good head. Wonderful tripel aroma. Excellent balance of hop flavor/aroma and it is not very sweet which is nice. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 8, 2009 Decent sized white head of fine bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with some pears, honey and some light spices. Maybe a hint of oranges in there. Color is a clear golden orange. Flavor is sweet malts, more fruit, sugary sweetness and some light spices again. This is balanced pretty well for a tripel. Noticable alcohol presence. Finishes a bit cloying with lingering fruit and malts. Not bad for a tripel and not bad from Rock Art.
