Bottle Pours a hazy golden rod with a good white head. The head is foamy a deminishing. Has a mild hoppy aroma of grass, pine, and a charcoal like smell. Has good carbonation. A crisp clean flavor. Dencent mix of malts then a light hoppy kick. Well balanced. Has a medium body. A good mouthfeel. A watery to lightly oily texture. A soft finish with areall good aftertaste. This is a good drinking beer.

22oz brown glass pry-top with a sticker on the bottom that read Oct 2008. Appearance: Medium amber/brown with an inch of sudsy white head that left a good amount of lacing on my oversized pilsner glass (Carlsberg). Nose: Candied fruits and dried fruits all around: figs, oranges, ruby red grapefruit. Also, grapefruit zest, pine cone, and a little mossy/earthy note. Palate: Big mouthfeel with caramel malt and bitter hops competing for first billing. The grapefruit is on the palate as well, some quick tropical notes, with some sweet lemon and a little thai lemon leaf/wet grass type taste. The finish is dry, bitter with a nice astringency. Notes: The nose shows no signs of slowing down, but the freshness of the hops is starting to fall away from the palate, leaving just the bitterness aspect and some leafy flavors. It may be starting to show a little oxidative characters, but not to the beers detriment. A great big IPA and most assuredly worth the humble price. More body (more malt) than the Belvidere Big IPA they just released. The Belvidere is running lean and just to showcase the hops. This is a little more "balanced" if you can say that about a Double IPA.

Pours a cloudy amber. Over balanced with hops, flavor rivals that of eating actual hops flowers. Hard to taste any subtle flavor notes here, but I enjoy hops, so I’m not going to complain too much.

Loved this beer. Great hops, perfect taste, and awesome price. Need to fill my fridge up with these and Vermonsters.

Pours murky amber with brownish hues. A quarter inch head of white fell quickly to reveal a few errant dots of lacework and a somewhat placid surface. Aromatics are filled with pungent pine and grapefruit, with hints of peach, malt, and wet cardboard. Medium bodied and crisp. Slightly syrupy with lightish carbonation. An aggresive bitterness and earthy resins start the palate. Plenty of bark-like pine sap, with grapefruit zest and hop pellets. Wet paper steps forward along with some warming alcohol, and plenty of roughish bitterness continues. Finishes with lingering wet cardboard, oxidized hop pellets, and bitterly drying. No bottle date found, but this ones not tasting too fresh and reaks of old pellets. Some fresh, whole hops would make a world of difference.

An interesting find....A Phoenician in Jersey sees a Kokopelli that sparks interest....Saw this little gem on the shelves at a Bottle King at X-mas...Why not? Nice Beer!! Pours a golden yellow, with a little head....perfect balance of maltyness to alcohol...not one of those over-sweet double IPA’s. Very smooth, and it impressed even the wine snobs in the fam. You East Coaster’s have a decent DIPA on your hands...not the best, but a very good attempt!

22oz. Bomber Pours a very nice cloudy golden yellow color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with some nice malty notes, some citrus, with plenty of pines. The taste is sweet, malty, hoppy, with some citrus/pine notes. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a pretty nice DIPA.

20081219 Bomber from Abes. Shiny amber- gold with small but lacing white head. Pretty standard, mediocre IIPA aromas of citrusy, lightly resinous, lightly pithy hops and sweet malts. Reminds me of an orange cranberry muffin for some reason. Medium body with even but tingly eff. Nice amount of finishing bitterness but rounded out with a dose of fusel alcohol and mild astringency. Not one of the best efforts from Rock Art, and at PA prices, not exactly the bargain that usually makes these beers worth it.
