So close to really enjoyable but there is a very clear soapy character that runs throughout. The hops are clearly good, I just dont think the blend sits together that well. I know there are things in here that I really like but itjust doesn’t sit right. The more I drink the better it gets certainly. The malt is really good and carries it well, the bitterness has excellent length, it’s just that soap. Sorry folks. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Pours a hazy copper bronze with a nicely-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of fairly fresh, earthy grapefruity hops and a touch of lightly sweet caramel malt. Body starts with some decent malty sweetness and an earthy bittering hoppy balance with some sugary notes. Needs some more assertive aroma and flavor hops with a crisper finish. Otherwise a pretty decent first attempt at an IIPA. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
