Commercial Description:
Jasmine Ale. This mysterious ale calls upon centuries of brewing and human intrigue with natural herbs. In days gone by, these beers were conjured up for many reasons and occasions. Folks consumed various natural herbs in many forms, and beer was one. It was thought that these herbs had qualities that complement everyday life. Today's connoisseur is finding that a swing back to the way it used to be is a natural cycle of life. Some of our modern ways could use a little tweaking and taking a step back into the world of Herbs is a great way to start. Enjoy this amber ale with a nice malt sweetness and just a hint of Jasmine and hops.

22 oz bottle. Deep amber beer with a creamy white head. Aroma is lightly fruity and caramelly. There is a light orangey citrus aroma along with a light floral note. A soft berry-like fruitiness also makes itself known. Flavour is quite floral. A bit of jasmine but mostly a herbal/fruity hoppiness. Nicely malty swetness as well. Quite a soft restrained floral jasmine flavour on the back. Decent brew.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, jasmine, light graininess and a hint of cocoa. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, cocoa, jasmine and a hint of citrus with a smooth lightly bitter finish.

GABF 2008. Amber brown. Heady jasmine flower aroma. Palate tames down the jasmine with a nice caramel malt balance. Not for everyone (Parksy and TylerDurden hated it), but I thought it was a nice change of pace.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of caramel malt with some very subtle notes of jasmine and some floral hops. Taste is also dominated by some medium full caramel malt with some very subtle jasmine and some floral and lightly bitter hops. I would have expected more dominant jasmine notes but still very enjoyable and easily quaffable.

(22oz bottle, thanks CaptainCougar) Hasy amber body topped by small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, jasmine. Taste is medium sweet, floral, light orange. Light-medium body. Weird -- almost devoid of flavor, just a neutral ale.

22oz bottle, courtesy of CaptainCougar. Thanks, Tom! Pours a hazy, golden-orange color; light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Very vegetal, stalky, and floral aroma; odd, but clearly expressed, like a flower garden. Medium mouthfeel: basic sweetness, stalky floral notes, and a touch of maltiness expressed at the core; very floral, odd stuff overall; watery along the edges. Medium finish: some sugar, toasty malts, and not much else.

22oz bottle: Bottle conditioned. Pours to a pale amber colored body, very slightly hazy (probably because I carried the bottle up stairs and roused the yeast a bit), with a small off-white colored head that quickly faded to a small ring. The aroma shows very slight hints of jasmine, herbs, light hops, and sweet malt. Taste shows more jasmine than I was expecting given some of the reviews on ratebeer - yes, it doesn’t take over the beer but it’s noticeable and I thought extremely well integrated into the beer. I wouldn’t want to drink pure jasmine anyway. After the light refreshing jasmine hits your mouth you get crisp, lightly sweet pale malt, very mild hops, and slight hints of wood or dusty grains - hard to place. Light body, medium carbonation. Finishes with light notes of jasmine. I like the jasmine much better in the beer than I thought, and really felt it made the beer more refreshing and crisp. Compliments go to the brewers here for their restraint rather than over usage of spice.

Bomber - Poured a darkish amber in color with a small off white head that faded to a thin rim around the glass. Aroma was not strong, but did have a somewhat flowery or herbal presence to it. Flavor was also not particularly strong. Has an OK pale ale as the basis, but anything related to "jasmine" seem to be absent. A drinkable beer, but nothing that unusual/remarkable.
