| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 16, 2008 The tomahawk hops leave a rather disjointed flavor which had the grassy essence of an ESB but the body lacks the strength and the bitterness doesn’t seem together. It seems a bit too perfumey even though the dryness is there. It seems more peppery than it seems extreme. bu11zeye (5564), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2008 I have to admit that for some reason I purposefully avoided anything from this brewery for quite some time. And then I said to myself: "Hey self. Maybe it’s time to try something from this brewery."
Pours a foggy orange brown with a crème head. Nose is hopped. Comes off as a resin-like and very mildly citric edge. Flavor is like a mix of Double IPA and ESB. Hearty hops with a perfume like edge to it. A noticeable bitter tone hits on the end as well. Pretty full carbonation and a well bodied liquid aspect make it nice to drink. I have to agree with Ding on this one and say that this really does seem more IPA-ish that ESB-ish. It’s nice-ish to drink-ish, but the whole ESB cubed-ish thing just doesn’t really work out.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2008 Nice clearish orange/amber coloured body with light golden highlights and a very thin off-white head. Aroma of fresh grassy hops, caramel, figs, malt, toffee and definitely some butterscotch. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour with english hops the most noticeable, fading to a full malt backbone covered with nuts and toffee - a bit of alcohol to speak of at the end too. Aftertaste shows some figs & raisins with some tobacco and light leather tastes near the end. Overall, a good beer - full of flavours, just not exactly sure which style this hits most - a mix between a lighter barleywine and a stronger esb - interesting! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from K&E Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 21 January 2008. blklab2007 (970), Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2008 bomber poured into a trappist glass has a heavy haze with an orange brown color and a good thick one finger head of white frothy head. aroma is malty sweetness, caramel, hops spice, apricot, and fresh cider. mouth feel is medium but very full plenty of carbination to push the flavors along. excellent hops to malt balance gives plenty of sweet malt with bitter and a dose of hops that is just the right level for the beer adding a spicy bite. really does drink well for an "extreme" brew.
