Mar 23, 2008 Appearance: Pours a humble brown body with a small, white head.
Smell: Dark malts with a touch of roast overlayed with pervasive smokey woodiness. Some tart fruits lurking around in the background.
Taste: Roasty dark malts, though very little sweetness. Hint of dark fruits. The slight smokiness kicks in and lasts till the final moment of the thin finnish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s alright, for a smoked porter.

Mar 22, 2008 Pours an amber brown color with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, smoke, roast, and some woody notes. Flavor is malty, some smoke, roast, a hint of chocolate, and a bitter woody roast finish.

Taste is metallic, slighly roasted grains and some nuttiness.
Overall, thin and underwhelming. The huge bubbly head doesn’t help the beer either.

Feb 23, 2008 12oz via trade. Nice dark pour, with reddish hues visible. Slightly sour, lactic taste amidst the chocolate malts give this one an odd quality. The smoke here is very subtle, at times barely detectable. Thinnish body, and a dry, chalky finish. Average.

Dec 31, 2007 Almost black body... nearly white head. Slight smokiness in the weak aroma. Watery palate, but a good roasted malt flavor is there. Easy to drink as well.

Aug 13, 2007 A decent porter, but I wouldn’t think it was smoky enough to belong in the Smoked category. Some hints, yes, along with a medium body and some other sweet malty notes you’d expect in a porter, but the smoke flavors should be stronger.

Jun 3, 2007 Poured into a glass, this could pass for a cola. Flavor is roasty, with slight smokiness and a hop balance. Medium-bodied, this isn’t bad.
