| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 18, 2007 Probably the best Rock Art that I’ve had, but, well, that’s not saying much. It has, for me, quite a flavor of cola on the palate and a bit of ashiness. Not a great beer but not bad. alobar (1032), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Pours a nice dark ruby color-almost black. Next to no had at all. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and some hops. Taste is mostly roasted malts with some chocolate and fruit. Agree with jfurycat. Best from Rock Art I’ve ever had. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2006 There is a slight roasted malt character in here but the smoky aspects are more abundant and the body is more on the medium side. Its good that they stuck this one in the variety case (not that I bought it!). It is well balanced and an easy to drink beer. This is the best Rock Art beer I’ve had so far. rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2006 Growler, thanks to Kelly. Black body, thin head of large bubbles (hey, its a growler) Nose is cocoa, milk, somke, nice roasty malt, a little cherry. Flavor is not as sweet as the nose suggests. Dry roast malt, some dark fruitiness, a hint of inky smoke. Bitter mocha finish w. some fruitiness. Jayb0 (752), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2006 I had a variety pack of four RA beers (Thanks Jess!) and all four beers were a surprise since the beer in the bottle seemed randomly matched with the style listed on the label. With this one I couldn’t detect event the lightest hint of smoke. And as for it being a porter, it didn’t really exhibit any of the roasted malt character I would expect. But, the beer was not unpleasant, it struck me somewhere between a straightforward brown or mild ale.
