Jul 31, 2005 Couleur cuivrée aux reflets brunâtres, faible mousse beige pale. Aromes de toffee, quelques pointes de chocolat et de houblon aux réminiscences de l’Angleterre. Semble une pale copie du style ou une version diluée. Très levuré en bouche, relativement sucré style sucre à la crème, pas la consistance de malt habituel au style. Le houblonnage demeure toujours de type anglais, terreux, feuille de laurier, certainement pas très amère. Corps d’épaisseur mince à semi mince, carbonatation beaucoup trop piquante.

Jul 26, 2005 Dark-copper hue, with reddish highlights, with a tan-colored foamy head, with roasted malt, dark malt, hint of chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramelized malt aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate, with toasted malt, chewy malt flavors, chocolatey note, sweet toasted grains, in a shy earthy hop finish.

Jul 19, 2005 This is not a barleywine, more like an english bitter or old ale. It’s got a strong earthy flavor, doesn’t remind me at all of a barleywine, or anything else I would enjoy.

Jun 19, 2005 This one brings back memories of VT brewers fest, or Sugarbush, or Mt Snow...Brown, clear, tan head. Woody light chocolate aroma, maybe some hops as well. Light malty flavors with gentle woody hops, some chocolate and carmel notes. I like this more than some, but this is not a BW, but an Old Ale.

Apr 23, 2005 Draught - this is a barleywine? you could have fooled me - if I were not told otherwise, I maybe would have guessed this was an amber ale - there isn’t enough maltiness in this, nor is there really "enough" of anything - a touch of oats and brown sugar - very thin and watery, especially in the finish.
