Commercial Description:
We're proud to present American Dream Ale, our unique West Coast IPA, in honor of American Beer Month. We picked the finest hops from Washington's Yakima Valley to give this historic pale ale a decidedly American twist. Floral, citrus and pine character burst from the Yakima hops to mix with the crisp, slightly dry malt flavor for a never bitter ale even the snobbiest limey would love.

All the Rock Bottom brewmasters were given the task of crafting an ale with this name, using all-American ingredients to celebrate American Beer Month, and let their artistry guide them. Our Man in Minneapolis, Mr. Todd Hauge, spun a nifty little IPA through his love of Amarillo hops, so why don’t we crack this growler open and give it a whirl? Hazy, toasted gold, pretty much apricot color, unfiltered, with a good 1" crown of shimmering white foam, very inviting as for looks! There’s that Amarillo citrus right up in the nose, lovely pineapple, orange, lemon, grapefruit, mango, sweet, luscious, and not so bitter, as you’d expect. Quite a pleasant thing to breathe into the nose! Taste: great texture, good hop entrance on the palate, delightful flash of fruit, that plays out sweetly and freshly before fading back. Medium in body, very light, smooth, refreshing, a subtle, even sophisticated IPA. So juicy and fruity, I can picture passing this offer as my quencher at brunch! Let the others do Mimosas and such! Not a challenging brew by any means, with hardly a trace of bitterness, nor any kind of a killer-diller of an IPA, but it has it’s own charms, offers particular rewards and drinks down like a dream.

Boston location. Decent clear copperish color with white head. Good head rentention with lacing on glass. Full hop aroma. Very flavorfull, but not very bitter. However very drinkable, and you’ll be burping up hops up to a half hour after drinking it.

On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a medium and see through copper color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of citrus (oranges) and caramel. For an IPA this one had a very weak hop presence. Very lightly bitter. On the weak side for an IPA.

Worlds better than their usual pale ale that this particular rock bottom. i would have liked it to be a little more agressive, but this was still quite good and well balanced. nothing was unique about the hop character, but again, this was definately good. and the quality seems to be improving at this warrenville brewpub.

From the Arlingon, VA location, growler courtesy of SeamusNeko. Hazy, dusty orange. Spicy pine, some hops, woody and toasty, a bit sour as well.

Growler, courtesy of seamusneko. Clouded amber. Rich hop aroma and lots if pine notes. Lighter grapefruit and creamy malts. Taste is nicely hopped and slightly grainy with sweet maltiness, citrus fruits, light piney notes and some hint of maple. Body is bitter with a medium feel and moderate carbonation. Finish is hoppy and citrusy with more sweet malts and light maple. Nice IPA.

From a growler filled at the Arlington, VA location. Hazy orange with a sticky white head. The aroma is fruity citurs, light sweet caramel. Dry bready flavor that is wrapped in a juicy citrus wrapper. Medium dry palate. Pretty nice and drinkable stuff. I could have sworn that I had rated this one as I had last summer at the Rock Bottom in Portland. I seem to remember that the Portland version was much hoppier.
