Decent hop presence in the flavor but a little light on the malt for me. A bit thin too but overall rally nice. anders37 (4761), Malmö, Sweden

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Very light bronze, akin to a golden ale in appearance with a spittle like 1" creamed white head. Crisp, lightly piny hop aroma (chinook/cascade?). Light, mildly hoppy flavor with refreshing mouth-washing bitterness. Bitter-sour tingle in back of throat. Crisp, light, bitter-tannic finish. riversideAK (2766), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Updated: Dec 31, 2008Sampled at Fremont Oktoberfest. I found this one to be a fairly standard hoppy west coast ipa. Nice bitterness with a little bit of fruitiness as well. Originally rated 3.4
Second rating... way awesome. A tong of citrus in the nose, like grapefruit, lemon, orange juice. Hazy yellow with a great head and sticky lacing. The hops in this are chewy and gritty. Lots of citrus, floral, grapefruit. Dry biscuity malt. More hops in the finish. Really freaking good. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Pours a deep orange with an off-white head. It didn’t look much different than the "Humpback Pale Ale" in the sampler line-up, but it was noticeably hoppier in aroma. The aroma is loaded with citrus and grapefruit and a touch of pine. The hops are starting to overpower the malts (at least compared to the Humpback). The flavor is more balanced than the aroma: it is still balanced with a nice dose of citrus hops and sweet, honey-like malts. The finish is very hoppy and quite bitter, but still nicely balanced overall thanks to a decent malt backbone. Overall, this was the strongest offering in the sampler - and by strongest I mean best.
