zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Feb 11, 2007 On tap at Rock Bottom, The Waterfront, Pittsburgh. The ABV is listed as 5.0% on the black board. Black brown color, off white head. Aroma is faint molasses & malt. Flavor is grass, malt, bitter watery coffee. SB (317), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 17, 2006 On-tap @ Rock Bottom, Pgh, PA. Pours black with thick creamy white head, guinness like. Aroma faint, but of malts. Flavor was of slightly roasted coffee. Some bitterness in the middle, ending with a sweet aftertaste. Mouthfeel was creamy. Full bodied. This had to be a stout, certainly not an ale, but it was good, by far one of the better rock bottom beers. CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Apr 30, 2006 Pours very black and creamy...think that had it on a nitro. Aroma is soft. Flavor is creamy and a bit chocolately. Definitely not an ale...either a stout or porter. Very reminiscent of a old dominion stout I had on nitro. Mouthfeel was very creamy. Also...the alcohol on the board said 5.2. Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA Jan 10, 2003 Nice black appearance with a full creamy head. Reminiscent of Guiness but with more of a chicory taste. Very nice. Perhaps the best I’ve had from Rock Bottom. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 10, 2003 Intresting beer. More like a porter then an Ale. Heavy flavor of Coffeee. Not bad at all...
