Commercial Description:
This is a rich, deep brown ale with a roasty character. It is smooth and malty, full-bodied and somewhat sweet. Editor's Note: This beer is one of Rock Bottom's standards and is available at many of their breweries.

Brown with a tan head that left lacing. Slightly nutty aroma. Had a very flat muted nut finish. Very watery as is characteristic of all rock bottom brews.

Tasted in San Jose (Campbell). Tasted on draft. Appearance is reddish brown, thin wispy white head. Aroma is faintly sweet with hint of malt and grain. Taste is light malty mouthfeel, with slight bitterness and somewhat watery finish.

sampled in a shaker over at the Chicago location. this is smooth, full and cremey, and yes somewhat sweet. a little bit hard to finish, but it was there and why not. it’s good. mainly roasted nuts, and a little bit of chocolate. a little bit on the hoppy side, which i liked.

Sampled my brother’s growler over Christmas. Deep ruby pour with medium white head. Aroma of malt, some hops, fruit, cabernet, and chocoff. Tastes malt, with slight fruit, nuts, and chocoff. Medium palate. Decent.

Smooth and sweet. Can easily be classified unded the typical guise of "yeah, we have a brown ale." Rich and sweet, but moderate across the levels. Good if you like a smooth, noncontroversial beer, but I like something a little more exciting.

Tap: Dark, clear brown color with a small tan head. Not much in the way of aroma, some slight darker malt, caramel, and light hops. Taste is smooth, though mild overall. Some roasted chocolate, nuts, toast, sticky. Ok, but not special.

Pours average brown with a tannish head. Taste is malt and a little sweet. This beer is smooth, but not bursting with flavor. A decent and drinkable brown ale.
