k2 (141), USA Jul 20, 2002 One of the better brown ales. I like Chicago’s version the best. Very smooth. frankenkitty (1789), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jun 10, 2005 Dark brown in color (looked a little weak but that was a deception), with an off-white ring for a head. Toasty malted aroma with caramel and a hint of alcohol. Balanced flavor leaning towards the malts with a thorough bitter-sweetness. A little oily on the tongue with a spicy, nutty finish. My favorite at Rock Bottom, similar to Goose Island Hex Nut with a strong, biting finish like a scotch ale.

austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Dec 4, 2002 Very yummy. Dark brown ale with a lighter body that belies its true nature. Rather malty, yet mild enough to drink as a session ale. One of RBottom’s best ales. Think Newcastle and you’re not far off. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jun 2, 2005 At RB Chicago: Dark dirty brown with a nice tan head. Grainy goodness and a bit choco-roasty. bluemeow76 (685), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA Aug 6, 2003 This beer is really nutty! Very easy to drink, and it is warm and smooth. I liked it.
