fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 5, 2007 Draught at the brewpub Blond color; creamy head; nice lace. Very light aroma, malt. Common flavor, with some white sugar. Simple. hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 21, 2008 Draft… DLD’08… Clear yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Lasting retention. The aroma is citrusy with lots of pale and medium roast malts. Light to medium-bodied and smooth with deflated carbonation. Leans a touch on the sweet side of balance with generous helpings of caramel and other medium-roast malts followed by mild hop bitterness. Sweet finish with delicate citrus. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Oct 16, 2005 Sample at the brewpub. Fairly clear, solid godl with nice creamy lacing...hint of lavender in the otherwise faint, malty nose...body moderately sweet-sour, full and malty, with a touch of snappy late pungent hops. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Jul 16, 2007 On tap at the Chicago location. Certain looks attractive enough - gold with a fluffy white head, but full of nothingness after that. Seemed rather under-hopped to me. Just a touch of dry malt. Not much else. Slightly metallic mouthfeel. Overall, clean but dull.
Cornfield (4255), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Oct 28, 2004 Updated: Sep 6, 2005I think this brew is meant to be a transitional, something for the macro-lager drinkers to try, "baby’s first ale." Very mild malt, very mild hopping. Kind of watery. Knowing the ABV might make drinking this stuff more worthwhile. At least, lacking aroma and flavor, you can know you’ll at least get a buzz.
