alexsdad06 (671), Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2008 Draft @ Cincy brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a medium sized creamy off white head. The aroma is lightly toasted, moderately sweet, and grassy. The flavor which is presented smooth as silk is toasted malts, light citrus, grass, and lightly bitter. This is only the third cream ale i’ve had (as far as I know) and turned out to be a decent brew. shigadeyo (1399), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Feb 29, 2008 2/28/2008: Sub Zero Cream Ale is actually a really nice interpretation of the Cream Aly style. It is golden in color with a very, very slight haze and has a really dene and creamy off-white head that is long-lasting and creates extremely dense lacing. Clearly this beer is served via nitro, but that really works well for this beer and this style since it creates and medium to medium-full bodied beer that is extremely smooth and creamy on the palate. As far as the aroma and flavor goes, I am satisfied and mildly surprised. This beer is has light toasty maltiness with some nice accompanying grassy hoppiness. The bitterness is extremely mild, but that is fine for the style. There are subtle flavors of lemon and toasted grains in the flavor as well. I’m glad to see some hops make an appearace in this beer. Overall this cream ale is very well-balanced, flavorful, and has a very nice palate. Kudos to Mitch at Rock Bottom on this beer!
