Ernest (4227), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 4, 2006 Draught at the downtown Denver brewpub.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, toasted bread, caramel, coffee).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
A real shame they didn’t get the bitterness right; this is too sweet for a dry stout but otherwise this was a seriously nice beer. And yes, it’s called "Drought", as in a long period with no rain...an apropos name for a dry stout indeed, but surprisingly the only beer with this name in RateBeer’s entire database (as of Sep 4, 2006).
