mephisto (1099), Taiwan Aug 20, 2008 another forgetable brew with no character; it has weak hop aroma and flavor, certainly not a pale ale in strict sense. the lame malt profile is apparent without the disguise of heavy hopping. heemer77 (3667), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jul 15, 2008 On tap at Rock Bottom DIA. The body was dark gold with a slight haze. Topped with a white head. The aroma was strong caramel with some grapefruit notes. The taste was strong caramel, especially for a pale, with some peanuts and wood. I believe that this was promoted as an English pale ale at the brewpub which makes sense for what i tasted. acrdz (4298), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Draft at Denver International Airport. Lightly cloudy medium-dark amber in color. Musty nose of toast/bread and mild orange/pine hops. Wet and silky on the palate, medium bitterness, somewhat pine-centered with notes of old oranges and wet wood. Well-made but I think the recipe is somewhat simple. That said, it is basically without flaws and does a good job quenching thirst when something with a little bit of hop bitterness is needed. Cybercat (399), USA Jul 1, 2008 It comes out of the tap a nice, clear, dark, brownish-golden amber. Aroma is seriously hoppy and almost like an evergreen tree. Flavor is decidedly hoppy, not complex, rather like drinking fresh pine needles; there is some bitterness, but not too much. Mouthfeel is jazzy and leaves a lively, hoppy aftertaste. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA May 26, 2008 dirty orange brown body with a marshmallow fluff head. smells like popsicle sticks and candy orange slices. flat cola, caramel, and hop flavor, tea like hop notes that i like, it keeps this balanced very well, and i can dig balance. grain flavor kind of comes out under it all, but not too much. easy enough to drink.
