ratman197 (2278), Arvada, Colorado, USA Dec 29, 2007 On tap @ Rock Bottom Denver poured a clear goldern amber with a small lasting off white head. Aromas of carmel, fruitiness and hints of honey and spice. Palate was medsium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, apricot and orange with a crisp dry lingering moderatly bitter finish. hophead75 (1668), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 2, 2006 draft in Denver. Aroma is light hops, malt. Taste is citrus/grapefruit hops with a mild bitterness and lightly malty body. WhiteSoxFan (152), USA Apr 5, 2006 Draft. Pours slightly hazy darkish copper with a ~1cm creamy white head. Disperses quickly to a layer of foam that leaves a little lacing on the glass. Aroma is hops, fruity, grapefruity, maybe even a little lemony. Flavor is balanced towards hops, as it should be. Lots of grapefruity, flowery, lemony hop flavor. It does have a nice strong malt backbone. A good amount of bitterness, without being too much. Some malty sweetness that contributes to a solid, medium mouthfeel with the correct amount of carbonation, not overly or underly carbed. Overall a solid IPA. Not my favorite or the greatest, but I would surely order another pint or two and maybe even another growler to go next time I find myself at Rock Bottom.
