acrdz (4298), Boulder, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2003 Rock Bottom Denver, September 27, 2003. Black with a white nitro head. Not much of an aroma, some slight cream is all. I can certainly taste the milk in this, and the waiter was kind enough to warn Sean (PrinceofNessus) that it did contain lactose... being that Sean is part Native American we didn't want milk to tear apart his inside since we had to spend the weekend with him :) Ok, back to the review. It was pretty thin on the mouth, but smooth from the nitro, which worked well for the milky and creamy flavor. However, it if were just a little more thick, it would have been a perfect coffee-milk flavor and texture for a good smooth sweet stout. Ernest (4227), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2006 Draught. Head is light brown, fully lasting.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate milk).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Light to medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively/soft carbonation. The_Beer_God (2838), Newport News, Virginia, USA Oct 8, 2006 Draft at Rock Bottom Denver. Opaque blackness. Small but sturdy tan head. Nose is roasty and sweet with lots of choco and coffee aromas. Taste buds are assaulted by roasted malts, chocolate and light coffee with only minimal lactic tartness. Body is rather creamy with a nice velvety smoothness over the palate. Very fine carbonation on this one. Perhaps this was nitro but not noted that way? Ends with a sweetened and creamed coffee flavor and more chocolate. Only light lactic tartness here as well. BeerandBlues2 (2473), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 27, 2007 Draught at Downtown Denver location. Pours black with an average, frothy, creamy, light brown head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, coffee, toasted grain), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of brown sugar. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. Aurelius (2469), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2005 Phoenix. Nutty stout aroma with a bit of sweet dairy. Great appearance - pitchy black with a light tan head which lasts forever. Dry, tangy with hazel nut and a tarry bitter. Very good mouth and buffered finish. Quality stuff.
