Scottsdale location. Pours to a nearly transparent golden body with a lasting thin creamy white head. This beer is a palate cleanser. Flavors of wheat, cloves, but not too much of either. Light-medium banana, vanilla, and caramel. The aroma is yeasty. Nicely balanced between wheat and yeasts. Graham crackers.

Draft @ Minneapolis Brewpub: Light hazy, no head, light lacing. Nose of light ester and a bit of wheat. The flavor is a bit stale and starchy. Light hop and grassy metal in the tail. Meh.

On tap (sampler) at the Minneapolis location, June 2007. Hazy straw colour. Not much estery fruit in the aroma, but plenty of spicy cloves. Standard wheat beer elements to the flavour - banana, spices, cloves, vanilla, citrus. More spicy than estery. Thankfully fairly free of bubblegum. The mouthfeel is quite tart with a sour edge that I thought detracted from the overall impression.

Brewpub draft, Minneapolis. Lightly cloudy gold, small white head. Banana, grains, not enough spiciness, underlying arificial character- maybe paper or cardboard. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Unimpressive.

Draft... RBSG 07, Minneapolis location... Hazy, straw-colored ale with a tiny, fizzy, white head. Regarding the aroma, I’m not picking up any of the typical fruity esters of a “hefe,” but definitely some spicy, clove and smoke phenols. Like everything else at this location, the flavor is mainly tangy/acidic, which I like. Lightly sweet with restrained clove and, there we are, some under ripe banana. Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and almost-non-existent carbonation. Tangy, scathing, dry finish.

Rock Bottom King of Prussia. Cloudy, deep straw body with a persistent, frothy white head. Huge banana esters in the aroma, plus some bubble gum and floral notes as well, light phenols, and doughy yeast qualities. Very wheaty flavor with a vague hint of toast. A clove-like spicy edge lends some balance to all the big esters here. Some notable texture going down. A decent hefeweizen, but needs a little more acidity to make this more palatable and quenching.

Pours a hazed tawny golden w/ a decent head. Good head retention w/ decent lacing. Aroma of thick malted banana spice. Light to medium nectar w/ ample reidual effers. A malty specimen w/ moderate to strong flvors. Posseses abundant fruit from start to finsh. Kinda chewy, gummy banana fruit spice. Finish is finely bittered w/ a bit of citrus rind.
