| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2006 El Hefe pours to a hazy deep golden color with a vibrant carbonation and a thick and creamy white head. The nose on this beer is loaded with aromas of banana, clove, estery fruit and tart wheat character. The palate is firm with lots of wheaty malt flavor paired with estery flavors of pear and spicy clove. El Hefe ends with more tart wheat, and estery fruit up front, and ends with some nice spicy clove and banana yeasty flavor that lingers.
This is a very authentic, very delicious, very drinkable domestic version of Bavarian Hefeweizen from a very capable brewpub chain that knows how to brew great beer. This beer is perfect for a hot climate such as Arizona, and El Hefe makes for a local favorite. Look for this beer at the Rock Bottom Scottsdale location, or other local Rock Bottom locations. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Acidic, tangy, citrus even without the lemon. Good mouth. Acidic, grainy medium quick finish. Banana taffee carbonation. Pretty decent. CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Body is mellow and smooth with decent malt balance and a little spice. This was the best of the beers I had tried at RB Scottsdale. daknole (3000), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
