On tap at the Horse Brass Oregon Brewers Month kickoff party--Very light golden-yellow body with a small white head. Nose of spicy Euro hops and grassy, crisp refreshingly cereal maltiness. Low alcohol. Easy drinking. Highly sessionable. Yum!

On tap at the Pittsburgh Rock Bottom. Looks like a ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Smell is simply just beery like plain old lager beer. Taste has an off normal slight sour taste. Seems to have an alky bite to it, more than the 4.7% listed here. Has a different personality than the other Rock Bottom beers I’ve tasted so far. Not quite as light as other kolsch brews I’ve tasted. OK to have tasted this once but probably would not go for this again. On par with Schell Zommerfest.

Draught @ Bethesda: Clear pale golden yellow with a small, thin white head. Not much in the way of a nose. I can only get the barest hints of sweet, grainy malt and some spicy floral and grassy hops. Light bodied, but very crisp and didn’t taste watery to me. All the flavors are subtle: sweet grains, light malts (though not as sweet as a pilsner), bread dough, mild floral, spice, and grass hops, and just the slightest hint of yeast. I thought the brewers did a nice job with this one, I couldn’t taste any off flavors.

Autumn Brew Review 2004. Light gold color with little head. No aroma. Very little taste, much more like a macro than good beer, although it is not offensive.

Light gold. Lots of hops. Very mild and easy to drink, but not especially good.

Sampled at Rock Bottom Atlanta. This stuff had the look and consistancy of Coors Light. Bland taste.

All I can really say is that this is a heavy pilsner. It looks and has the same aroma of a generic pilsner, yet has a llittle more depth to the body.
