| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Hazy brown with thin off-white head. Aroma is of roasted malts with some sweet notes. Roasted/burnt flavor, dry finish. Flat on the tongue. Not sure if what I had was a Brickway since it was noted as a robust brown similar to a porter. On tap at RB, Indianapolis. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2009 draft at the downtown brewpub - Pours dark brown with an off-white head that laces well. It has a minimal nutty malt aroma. The flavor is sweet and full of caramel. It’s light to medium bodied and an easy quaffed session brew. WabashMan (812), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2008 I noticed their beer menu said this was brewed in "the brown porter" style. Another confused brew from Rock Bottom? Perhaps they figured porters wouldn’t sell, but browns appeal to the BMC crowd when they come in? Anyway, this was clearly more a porter than a brown ale, in terms of its flavors. They weren’t very strong, and as a porter it was somewhat weak in flavor, but the common porter flavors were definitely present. Not bad. StFun (535), Indiana, USA

Exceptionally well-balanced. Well-bittered, but not overbearing. Woody, herbal notes. Lingering bitter finish. Kudos to the brewmaster.
