Had on tap at the brewpub awhile back. It was arguably my favorite offering I tried while visiting there.

Hazy brown with thin off-white head. Aroma is of roasted malts with some sweet notes. Roasted/burnt flavor, dry finish. Flat on the tongue. Not sure if what I had was a Brickway since it was noted as a robust brown similar to a porter. On tap at RB, Indianapolis.

draft at the downtown brewpub - Pours dark brown with an off-white head that laces well. It has a minimal nutty malt aroma. The flavor is sweet and full of caramel. It’s light to medium bodied and an easy quaffed session brew.

I noticed their beer menu said this was brewed in "the brown porter" style. Another confused brew from Rock Bottom? Perhaps they figured porters wouldn’t sell, but browns appeal to the BMC crowd when they come in? Anyway, this was clearly more a porter than a brown ale, in terms of its flavors. They weren’t very strong, and as a porter it was somewhat weak in flavor, but the common porter flavors were definitely present. Not bad.

More or less a Newcastle. Pretty nice brown. Nice notes of carmel and nuts. Slightly watery, but would be a nice gateway to craftbeer.

Out of the sampler at the College Park pub. Clear mahagony color with a thin beige head. Nose of roasted coffee and some chocolate. Flavors of dusty chocolate, toasted grains, toffee, burnt toast and some nuttiness.

Nice, light roast, light cocoa, medium aroma. Dark, slightly cloudy brown, thin head. Exceptionally well-balanced. Well-bittered, but not overbearing. Woody, herbal notes. Lingering bitter finish. Kudos to the brewmaster.
