Commercial Description:
A silky smooth, full-bodied, Oatmeal Stout. The rich dark chocolate and coffee flavors are mellowed by the smoothness of the oat flakes. Nitrogen enhances this ale's seductive, creamy finish.

Drat at the brewpub. The version I tried was listed as 8%.....oh well. Pours black, a little watery, small beige ring. Nose of fresh coffee beans, cocoa dust, some dried dark fruits as well. Flavor was much of the same. Pretty tasty, nothing too special though.

On tap in La Jolla. Color was dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, cocoa, roasted malt with a dusting of toffee. Flavor was not overly sweet with a good amount of roasted malt and cocoa. Pretty easy to drink. Did not pick up much of the oatmeal presence.

On nitro at RB LJ. Pours black with a creamy, light brown head, sheet lace. Smells roasty malty with some slight sweetness. Tastes the same with a good amount of roasted malt bitterness, only slightly sweet. FUll, creamy body, velvetty carbonation.

On tap, pint. Dark black color with some brown tones, and a medium cream head. Aroma is burnt coffee and cereal. Nice flavors of coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Bitter, oatey, but light finish.

On tap, nitro. Black pour, some light get through showing red tones. Med white head typical of a nitro stout. Aroma is somewhat light, but mostly burnt hops and coffee. Flavor is mostly coffee, some dry chocolate tones. Good dry finish with some bitterness in it.

big ass head that is brown, with a thick black body. a nice thick deep chocolate flavor to it to overide the usual bland and nasty outmeal that it is based upon. it was very well balanced and filled in well since they didnt have the imperial.

Had a sample@the La Jolla Pub: Color is black with an average tan head. Nose is light cocoa. Flavor: Starts with a hint of bitter chocolate and coffee and finishes somewhat dry and bitter sweet. Palate is a bit thin, but overall a decent stout.
