Three goblets enjoyed at the Rock Bottom, Long Beach. Sadly, served in the 12-ounce portion rather than pints, supposedly because of the high ABV. Appearance is so-so, but the aroma and flavour are a hop-head’s delight. Oh yes, mouth and finish are not too shabby, either.

The pour was a fairly cloudy gold color with a mostly white head. Some decent lacing, but a fairly unattractive brew. The aroma was pine hops, mild citrus and very little malt. The flavor was hop heavy. Lots of pine and citrus with the malt struggling to maintain ground. Super dry finish on a medium bodied brew.

on draft at brewery, consumed on 11/12/07. Nice head retention, though no active carbonation. Citrus nose, citrus hoppy palate. No real malt flavors detected. Fairly mild, though; not especially hoppy despite the name.
