rederic (1513), montréal, Quebec, Canada May 23, 2008 Dark brown color, with a sweet toasty, caramelized malt nose, with some dried raisin, date and fig fruitiness, with a hint of dark chocolate in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet toasted, caramelized malt character, with some toffeeish, crème brulée accents, reminiscent of butterscotch, leading towards a fruity, malty finish.

The flavor saw the addition of a nutty bitterness and some juicy darker fruits. It was lightly dry in the finish and had slight alcohol presence. Pretty nice.

First Annual RockFest, Rock Bottom Chicago, 3/22,2008
Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 3, 2008 On tap at RB - Milwaukee. Poured clear, deeper reddish-brown with a short-lived beige head. The aroma picked up lots of sweet drawn caramel with subtle smoke highlights.. sweet, simple, and enjoyable. The flavor had sweeter caramel notes at the core, paired with dark fruits and a touch of chocolate.. light, ashy smoke accented the sides.. decent balance. Medium-bodied and sweet on the palate with sharper floral bitterness and prickly alcohol notes on the sides and back. This was OK.
