rederic (1513), montréal, Quebec, Canada May 13, 2008 Cloudy yellow hue, with a white head, spicy yeasty, bananaish, fruity nose, with a wheaty, grainy, oatmeal note, with a light cinnamon, honey accent, and ripe apple fruitiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, bananaish, spicy character, with some honeyed wheat, pale malt accents, a good cinnamon-like ripe apple pie note, a bit lactic too, leading towards a fruity, wheaty, spicy finish.
JPDIPSO (4344), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 17, 2008 Golden color with a moderate white head. Pale malt aromas enhanced by light banana and mild spice. Flavors are rather thick with malt, honey and heavy fruit syrup. Too thick and heavy for a refreshing hefe. Some decent flavors get drowned out by the syrup. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 23, 2008 On tap at RB – Milwaukee as "Heartland Wheat". Poured cloudy medium golden with a shorter-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet banana and spicy cloves with primarily pale malt backing. The flavor found dry spices and grassy bitterness over banana and pale malt sweetness.. ugly and cloying at the back. Lighter-bodied with heavy spicy and tacky malts on the back.. dry, not-so-refreshing finish. Not good. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Jun 29, 2008 On tap at brewpub under name "Heartland Wheat". Very tasty and refreshing wheat with sweet banana and clove notes up front. Wheat backbone was strong but unimposing, creating an airy quaffer for an afternoon at the restaurant. I’ve recently gotten into hefeweizens, this is a pretty good beginner brew for someone like myself.
