1FastSTi (2402), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA May 13, 2005 The appearance is an average thickness off-white head. A semi-opaque red/brown body. Excellent lacing. Sweet malts, light hoppiness. The flavor is strawberry hops, barley, sweet alcohol. The palate is slightly sticky and medium bodied. MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA May 13, 2005 a nice copper color w/ a good light small bubbled head not much lacing. Very light scent hints of yeast & barley. Palate is farily thick w/ nice creaminess. Flavor is very sweet malty a little fruit in it not sure which a bit of carmel. Overall to weak in the scent an dlacking in hops and a bit to sweet but pretty good. Ughsmash (3079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 12, 2005 Golden yellow with a quickly-receding white head. Alcohol, floral, and some fruit in the aroma. Decent medium malt backbone, and a rather pleasant mouthfeel. Lighter than expected, but rather refreshing. DavidP (1713), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 10, 2005 Brown body with a thin white head. Chocolate chip cookie dough nose with some peppery plum fruit. The flavor is intensely malt along the same lines as their Scotch Ale: chocolate chips and kaiser roll yeast amidst a background of caramel malt. There are some hops present but just of the green noble variety, and there relegated to the background by the big sweet malt. Cookie dough finish with a strong pepper note (alchol?). Overall a good barleywine, I likes the malt. JPDIPSO (4286), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Feb 11, 2005 Golden with a small off-white head. Sweet malt and hint of alcohol in the aroma. Pale malt and mild light fruit flavors. Very relaxing and pleasant flavors, very much in the english style. Light oily feel. Nice warming sensation late along with some white pepper.
