detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007 Bittered with Warrior and Amarillo hops. Dry-hopped with just Amarillo.
Pours a hazy golden amber with a bit of a peachy coloration. The haziness is from the dry-hopping, I think it is clearing over time. It is less hazy than it was on the Saturday pubcrawl (when my partner in crime got a couple of hop leaf floaties in his pour). Maybe a half inch of nearly white soft foamy head. It leaves a nice lace as you drink the beer. Carbonation is good, the bubbles are tiny. To me, the aroma was piney and hoppy.
First sip is all hops. Bold piney citrus hops. So is the second sip. And the third. So is the next pint... You get the idea. Nothing in the malt stands out, it is all hops to me. There must be some good malt in there, because it isn’t overly bitter (for me), but then again, I really like super-hoppy IPAs. I don’t know what the IBUs are, but this one tastes even hoppier than the 100 IBU Big Red they released earlier this year.
Grassy hops in the finish, more piney hops in the aftertaste. Apart from the hops, the beer is smooth. I don’t think it is too thin, but would understand if other people called it thin for an IPA. Or if they called it too thin for the amount of hops.

Consumed from a growler, after having one at the pub earlier...
Hazy, peachy color, fresh, frothy white head, though slim.
Aroma: immediately speaks of pine, pineapple, citrus, grapefruit, bristling with hoppiness...
Taste: again, the hops speak up, yet the voices fade away fast, not without leaving a memento, though, in the distinct hoppy feel. Less full-bodied than I’d like though, this, actually is more fully-flavored from the growler than the pint I had this afternoon. (perhaps a carbonation issue was to blame?)
In any case, I came away from my lunchtime repast with a growler fully ready to express disappointment that I felt at the pub, but, damnit, she holds up pretty well, and I have no complaints!
One more sip to make sure...yep, it’s hoppy, fruity, tasty, tingly, citric, devilishly delicious...I went into this review thinking I’d pan it, but here’s no cause at all! Very nice single-hop IPA, very tasty...yum...yum..
Seriously, at the pub i thought I’d have to lowball it, but drinking it now, it’s groovalicious!
