TomDecapolis (2389), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 3, 2008 On tap at the Minneapolis location. Pours a dark brown with amber notes and a medium creamy/bubbly tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of nuts, sweet malts, toasted malt, light hop notes, light chocolate and toffee. Flavor of nuts, toasted malt, cocoa, some citrus and hop presence. Dogbrick (2209), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 13, 2008 Sample at the MSP location. This beer is a dark brownish color with a medium thin beige head that has decent retention. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and nuts, plus a little bit of hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, nuts and hops. The finish is sweet and nutty with a lingering malt aftertaste. Decent overall. Naka (407), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 On tap at Minneapolis airport. Really dark brown pour with a bit of lacing. A good nutty roasted aroma. Has notes of brown sugar and roasted hazelnuts in the flavor. I didn’t get a whole lot of balance... something seemed to be missing. mnurda (344), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Nov 5, 2007 Chocoltae flavour rings through well. Not as carbonated as i would like. Not as hoppy as they describe, but does have a dry finish. ubamartian (149), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA Nov 1, 2007 Draught Minneapolis. Pours dark brown with a deep cookie colored head, disappears quickly. Mild lacing evident. Aroma of choc, and raisins. First sip is chocolate, mild raisin, and cocoa blended very well. Finish is a superb lightly chocolate and sweet light alchohol flavor, which lingers but not too long. Feelijng is smooth and well balanced, not watery and not too bubbly. Definately a good brew.
