detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007 Pours a hazy peach-amber color, with an inch of soft creamy white foam. With a more aggressive pour, you can get as much foam you want. Peach and citrus hops in the aroma. Very good lacing.
Hops dominate this light-bodied brew. With light grapefruit and orange flavors, it is aggressively hopped. The malt is very mild, with a subtle toasted grain and an almond or peach stone flavor. Dry and lightly grainy finish, nice citrus aftertaste.
Moderate levels of carbonation, smooth but hoppy, all around pretty drinkable. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Mar 31, 2005 Thick Orange with Small White Head. Heavy Hop Aroma and Flavor. Some Citrus but Mostly a Hop Attack Brew. Lightly Bitter. badgerben (3066), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Mar 19, 2005 Hazy orange color with a medium head. Floral aroma and some spices. It has a solid whack of bitterness, but not over the top. Weak malt backing. Nothing really going on with it. Eh, it’s drinkable, but passable as well. Pigfoot (2225), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 10, 2005 Clear, highly charged, light peach to amber in color, with a fine layer of creamy white froth.
Citric nose, grapefruit, apricot, lemon rind, orange zest...nicely bitter, slightly floral.
Taste: just enough bitterness to make this almost qualify as an IPA, but it lessens on the tongue after the first sip.
Pale fruity flavors are at play most of all, but the bitter hops are dominant. Not much malt felt. I went with the stylistic designation from the Pittsburgh entry, but this teeters closer to an IPA, but the smoother, easy-drinking British style (not enough crisp caramel malt to be an ESB), not the bristlingly hoppy American style. The lightness is alcohol and body don’t match up against the downtown Minneapolis "bitter cold" (try the Fallen Angel Belgian-style or the Berserk malt liquor for that, unfortunately, the Imperial Stout is gone already), but it’s a passable treat.
