yespr (7788), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 30, 2007 Sample from tap at the brewpub in Minneapolis (Coconut milk). pours dark brown and with a brown head. Coffee and liqourice aroma. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Slight citric bitter flavoured with soft chocolate, liqourice and coffee notes. Sweet to dry finish. No coconut notes what so ever, but I guess it provided some smoothness. argo0 (6289), Washington DC, USA Jun 26, 2007 Black body with creamy brown head. Aroma is medium sweet, roast/coffee, light caramel, chocolate. Taste is moderately mocha, roast, some orange/cherry. Smooth medium body that was pleasant, but no matter how much I strained to detect it, had no trace of coconut. hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 1, 2007 Nitro... RBSG 07... Coconut Milk Stout... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, ultra creamy, well-tanned head. Incredible retention. French roast coffee, light chocolate and lactic acid in the nose. Tangy flavor, more than anything else. Low sweetness; light bitterness; lots of dark, roasted notes. Medium-bodied and creamy with almost no carbonation. Finishes lightly tangy, mildly bitter, and then dry. BückDich (4605), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 4, 2007 Draft @ Minneapolis Brewpub: Black, tan head, light lacing. Nose of light roast and chocolate, sweet raisin and cocoa, a little coffee. The flavor is smooth and creamy, a robust finish, no coconut noticeable but great. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Jul 16, 2007 On tap (sampler) at the Minneapolis location, June 2007 as "Coconut Milk Stout". Very dark, almost black and opaque with an incomplete brown head. Very roasty burnt malt and chocolate flavour. More chocolate in the flavour. Can’t say I picked up any coconut but I did note down a sort of rum & raisin element - I’m glad to see that Maniac picked that up too as I wondered whether my tasting faculties had gone awol. The mouthfeel is dominated by burnt notes. Decent enough but not quite as interesting as it sounded.
