Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Nice mouthfeel. Solid. General_Gao (2480), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 17, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Poured an opaque black color. The head was thick and tan with good retention and lacing. Smelled of molasses, light coffee, and chocolate. Medium bodied with a smooth nitro-pour mouth feel. The dry and roasty malt flavor, was almost coffee-ish. Pretty good. detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007
Pours nice and deep and inky black, with easily an inch or two of brown foam - very bubbly . Decent lacing throughout the mug club glass. Mild aromatic and roasty malt.
Nice mild yet flavorful taste - mellow roasted malt, a bit of molasses, with a somewhat oily and fruity finish. Not as dry as I expected, but I am ok with that ’cuz it is nice and tasty. A little pine hops in the finish - somewhat subdued green chlorophyll. Good balance, with a rather nice mouthfeel ElGaucho (1721), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 15, 2005 This brew is replacing, not sure if permanently or temporarily, Al’s Sweet Stout. Sweet, rich, strong dark roasted malt aroma. Opaque body, but no head. Flavor nowhere near as good as the aroma. Below average stout.
